WHAT WE DO
We work closely with the following organizations in India and the US who are providing direct service to people in education and health care.
Maharogi Sewa Samiti, Warora, India (Society to Serve People afflicted with Leprosy) was established by the late Baba Amte with the intention of treating leprosy patients.
Established in 1949 with Rs. 14, six leprosy patients and a lame cow, MSS, Warora has spread its work all over Maharashtra and many organizations have taken inspiration from Baba’s life and are working for the downtrodden across the country and even the entire world.
Founded in 1977, New Hope Housing is an innovative, award-winning non-profit agency in Northern Virginia committed to finding creative and lasting solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by offering homeless men, women and children the services they need to change their lives and succeed. Each of those success stories adds to a stronger, healthier community for all.
Cornerstones is a nonprofit organization that promotes self-sufficiency by providing support and advocacy for those in need of food, shelter, affordable housing, quality childcare, and other human services.
Snehwan was established as a result of one man’s commitment to offer food, shelter, and quality education to underprivileged children. Launched by Ashok Deshmane in 2015 with just 18 children, this social initiative has now grown into a loving home for 180 children, affectionately known as Snehwan
Walk for a good cause
18th Annual Heart & Soul Walk, 2024

Annual Heart & Soul Walk
We organize an annual walk we named The Heart and Soul Walk each Fall. The name is intended to encourage the participants to acknowledge their own good health. We want you to commit yourself to maintaining and improving your health by regular walking and healthy eating.
The first walk was held at River Bend State Park in Virginia. Since then the walk has been held at Lake Accotink, in Springfield, Virginia. Over the 12 years that we have been holding this event, the participation has ranged from 50 to over 200. The participants ranged in age 1 to 80 years. We have walked through rainy and cold mornings and on beautiful, warm sunny days. We were honored to have Drs. Prakash and Manda Amte join us for the walk in 2015, Dr. Vikas Amte and his son-in-law Gautam Karjgi in 2016 and Drs. Sheetal Amte Karajgi and her husband Gautam in 2017.
