REACH IN US establishes scholarships at NOVA Community College
“Community colleges are one of America’s great social inventions – a gateway to the future for first time students looking for an affordable college education and for mid-career students looking to get ahead in the workplace.” Former Senator Barbara Mikulski
“Because of the flexibility that community colleges afford, many students do not have to choose between an education and fulfilling other responsibilities – they can do both.”, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Professor of English, NOVA.
Recognizing the role Community Colleges can play in advancing the core mission of REACH IN US, we have been funding $1,000 scholarships at NOVA Foundation for the past two years. In 2021, two supporters of RIU were inspired by Tedwina’s story and provided resources to award two REACH IN US Nursing Fellowships at NOVA Community College. These fellowships will cover the entire cost of two years of Nursing education at NOVA Community College for selected students. Click the link below:
REACH IN US has also been awarding single semester scholarships ($1,000) on a competitive basis for the past two years. Details about these can be found at the following link.
